well this is the error screen i am getting before the install. the upgrade adviser said i can run all the elements of vista but i don't have a clue why it isn't installing. it installs fine on my laptop which has allot lower specs.

i have this problem as well the it appears that the key dosnt open the windows image file ????????????????? can any vista key open the image file ??is it universal???

ok so if the key suppiled is the only one that will open the image file ,why is it that when you put it in, it fails and dosnt open the image file ????????

As your 6 duplicate posts show, you really shouldn't be trying out experimental operating systems. Stick with your XP operating system. Beta means for experienced users only and only for use on a non essential computer.

the "6 duplicate posts" is a common problem. Microsofts web-based newsreader often tells people that their post didn't go through, even when it did. several people have reported problems using the product key. the only solution anybody has had success with is to check the md5 sum of the iso to make sure the download was not corrupted, and re-burn the DVD (at 1x).

Verify that md5 sum is ok.
You could also try to get a new key, since every one can get upto two keys. I burned my DVDs at 8x and then 4x. And they both worked fine, except for once.
